Balloon Shoot & Nock Out Games!
Last week members of the JOAD and SOAD programs scored and earned rank and pins, and awards will be presented this class.
This week, we will have the balloon shoot game along with the "Nock-out" game. Everyone, please stretch out, get your gear set up, and select 1 balloon to blow up and put in the big bag with your symbol or initial.
We will have a few warm up rounds of "Nock-out" and start the games.

Nock-Out:
Strategy and skill as a warm up game...3 arrows.
First round: red and better scored arrows are kept to shoot for the next round.
Next round "8" and better scored arrows are kept (arrows are getting down to one or two in a quiver ,and usually only one or two competitors are still standing.)

Down to Gold!!!(with what's left in your quiver)
(those Nocked-out, may begin practice for the balloon games, or scoring)

Balloon Shoot:
The idea is shoot YOUR balloon first, before your competitor pops theirs.
Once you have shot yours,  you shoot for theirs.
If you shoot theirs first accidentally-they win and they move to the next round . You are out a round,  but can restart shooting with others independent of the 1st game, to create an underlying game.
Strategy is important.
Timing is important.
This is a training game for handling nerves, and gaining focus. Use the skills we've trained for in these games!!

Please arrive a few minutes early to gear up and check in.
To participate , Please reply with the day and time selected in the subject line. and your name, right or left handed, and if adult or youth via learnarchery@yahoo.com if you have not already done so, so we have enough equipment and staff available

New students begin to learn the ins and outs of what each ring is worth, the power of the lines that edge the rings, and what arrows may help in a strategy to gain points . New archers learn how to keep score, and may keep the scorecards to have a log of their own progress. If students are a member of the Learn Archery & USA Archery JOAD/SOAD program, they can use this session to earn rank and pin awards. June 7 & 8; Blank Bale training

Training: "Blank Bale"Saturday & Sunday June 7 & 8, 2014 Canton GA range
Saturday: Please arrive early to gear up & check in ( no later than 10:15 ). Note:Orientation follows
Sunday: Please arrive  early  to gear up and check in.(no later than 3:15)  Store closes at 5, and we must be packed up and out!

Archery Class Training: Blank Bale
Working on a general overall accumulation of the steps in the process, is a continuing learning experience. Whenever an archer trains, great gains can be made by choosing ONE element of the process, learning it until the student "owns" it, before  concentrating on tuning another element. Choosing one element, for example keeping the bow-hand relaxed and completing a shot with the "sit-dog" wrist snap at the end, can be more easily acquired with focus on that one element only in "Blank Bale" training. Blank Bale training is getting a few feet from the target bale, closing your eyes, feeling the shot, and maintaining focus on that one element, and repeating the training again and again

Reminder: Learn Archery JOAD Club membership expires the end of May.
(JOAD (youth) or SOAD (adult) programs require USA Archery Full youth $35, OR adult $50), membership, plus Learn Archery Club membership ($15) to earn pins and rank.Links below)
