Tournament News:
Our team members did great at the recent KAC USA Archery sanctioned tournament! Competition was stiff from local schools and archery programs, and a college. 79 competitors in the morning and afternoon sessions.
Results:
Alex Goetomo: Gold;   William Arnold: Silver;  Skyler Lansford: Silver;  John Arnold: Bronze; Elina Posey: Gold;  Karena Spratt: Gold; Jenna Biggins: Silver; Rosa Williams: Bronze.
Nice work!!  Many personal bests.

A "Hunger Games" tournament was held on Saturday at Big Woods Goods. Jackson Harpine took Silver.

Training while away from class
When on vacation, or when not attending class, keep your skills up with the techniques we have been working on.

We will focus on tune up during class this weekend, and review steps to use while away from class.
Some include:
  • Do SPT's with your own bow. In front of a mirror, time yourself as you go through your form elements. Hold at anchor as long as your form stays proper, then let down. Rest for twice as long as you were in "hold" position. Do it again, again, again etc, and as you do you will have less and less time in perfect "hold" and then quit. Try again another day-building time as you go. (20 seconds held, 40 seconds rest; 12 seconds held- 24 seconds rest-etc)
  • Film your shooting sequence and review.
  • Use your stretch or string bands in front of a mirror
  • Work with the paint bucket for draw hand release
  • Go to the KSL International sight and review athletes form
  • Work on your stance-mark a floor area with sting, tape etc and step away, then step to the foot position. then step back, and step to it again-repeat, repeat, etc.
